Kushal Virupakshappa

Kushal earned his PhD from the Illinois Institute of Technology , specializing in the application of Computer Vision and Machine Learning for Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). He recently joined our team and we are excited to bring him on and work with him.

Olufunmilola Oyebamiji

Bioinformatician

Funmi is a bioinformatician in the Sahu Lab and the UNM Bioinformatics shared resources. Her work includes analysis and reporting of genomic research studies, developing novel bioinformatics tools/methodology and providing bioinformatics support.

Oladimeji Macaulay

Macaulay is a Graduate Student of Biochemistry with background in life sciences and computer programming

MD/PhD Student

Aaron is an MD-PhD student with an MS in Statistics. He combines data science, machine learning, imaging, and cancer immunology to enhance healthcare with data-driven solutions. He's also passionate about community service, outdoor activities, and his hobbies.

Ala Jararwah is an experienced and brilliant Graduate Student who has worked in the higher education industry as a Teaching Assistant. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at The University of New Mexico and is a member of the Tumor AI lab

Mikaela Dicome

PhD Student

Mikaela is a Biomedical Engineering PhD student with a background in chemistry. Her research goals are to utilize Machine Learning to address pressing healthcare challenges.

Michael Servilla

Graduate Student

Michael is currently a non-traditional graduate student pursuing a computer science degree at the University of New Mexico. With a background as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in primary care, Michael brings a unique healthcare perspective to his computer science studies.

Yue Hu

 My name is Hu Yue. I graduated from Lanzhou University in China with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Technology. I am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of New Mexico, with a focus on deep learning and neural networks.

Shane McQueen

PREP Program Scholar

Shane is a recent UNM graduate and a CancerPREP post-baccalaureate scholar at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. Having obtained his undergraduate degree in biology, he is working to advance his career with new skills in Machine Learning for Bioinformatics.
